This is the second and last key pattern out of the Jame/Gonzales book. My goal here with all of this is to learn how took take the well described instructions in this book and make them work in Inkscape.

If you're getting started in Celtic art, I suggest you BUY THE BOOK.

The new grids make key patterns super easy. I spent more time fiddling with the colors and doing the math for the grid than I did with the actual drawing.

Quick tip for anyone working with grids in Inkscape. If you want to divide a page into equal sections in pixel mode, set the spacing to zero and adjust the major grid lines to divide the space. Example: an 8 x 8 grid on a work are of 496 x 496 pixels has a major grid line every 62 lines, 496 / 8 = 62.

When I did this Inkscape was less prone to re-size the grid inappropriately while zooming. Very nice!

I'm still having some difficulty tile cloning these pieces though. I end up with some weird artifacts in b/t the clones making them look like they are stacked in layers. Suggestions?

I'm going to move on to some basic knots. After I get two or three of those done, it'll be time for me to start putting some of these skills together.
